YOGA FOR EQUESTRIANS - with Kelley Shetter Ruiz
SATURDAY JULY 14, 2018
“Combining the body awareness and alignment of yoga, along with the fundamentals of riding, the Yoga for Equestrians workshop teaches riders how to be more aware of their own bodies in order to positively influence their horse. The workshop is available to riders of all experience levels and disciplines, and previous yoga is not necessary to understand the concepts and benefits.”
Kelly Shetter Ruiz teaches Yoga for Equestrians with 2 different workshops. Check out her website at: Carpediemeqtraining.com.
The first session is a Yoga “On the Mat” Workshop. $35.00 per person for a 2 hour session. Kelly provides all the mats, blocks and straps. The session focuses on stretching and anatomy and how that will improve your balance. No prior experience is required. This is not a traditional yoga exercise class, it is a stretching class. We will be holding the 2 hour "On the Mat" class at the Dorr Township building (1039 Lake St, Woodstock) from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
The second session is Yoga “Mounted Body Mechanics” under Saddle. $35.00 per horse for a 1 hour session. Groups of no more than 4 horses each. The yoga mat workshop is a prerequisite for this session. This workshop focuses on balance and tightness in the saddle. The 1 hour "Mounted Body Mechanics" classes will be held at Diamond Acres on Lucas Road in Woodstock and will start around 12:00. Jodi has a limited number of stalls for those of you that need to haul your horses to Diamond Acres before the On the Mat Class. Please contact Jodi Funk or Joan Laymon to make those arrangements.
Sign-up and payment will continue through our last member meeting on May 14, 2018. Payment for each class is due no later than May 14. We must guarantee a specific number of participants, therefore refunds will not be allowed after May 14 should you decide to cancel.
Please send your payment and signed Release of Liability form to Ron Miller.
